Project: Brass International Festival 2010

In June 2010 I was commissioned by Durham County Council to produce a documentary about their International BRASS Festival.

The aim of the film was to showcase the diversity and uniqueness of BRASS, which celebrates the rich history brass music plays in the heritage of communities of County Durham and the North East.

The Festival offers a programme which caters for all tastes in music from lovers of traditional brass to jazz, funk and soul, and cutting edge contemporary classical music.

My aim was also to document the wider positive impacts of the festival, showing the outreach work taking place in schools, community venues in outlying areas of rural Durham and settings working with harder to reach groups.
