On July 1st I will begin filming coverage of the Durham Brass Festival 2011. This will involve filming, editing and producing over 20 web videos.

Taking the form of micro-documentaries, these short films will show performances, events, workshops, art installations and interviews featuring bands, performers and artists from across the world who are involved with BRASS 2011. They will be uploaded to YouTube over the course of the two week festival which takes place across County Durham in July.

Over the last two months I have filmed, edited and produced 2 short films showing Winter North Atlantic preparing for the opening night of BRASS at Durham Town Hall and NASUWT Riverside Band rehearsing for an InterOpera performance at The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. I will be producing two further 'behind the scenes' films about the build up to BRASS 2011 showing The Unthanks and Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band rehearsing for their performance at Durham Cathedral, as well as Soprano Penelope Randall-Davis rehearsing for her appearance with NASUWT Riverside Band.

The first short films to cover events at the festival will be filmed, edited and uploaded on its opening day. They will feature some live performances by brass bands on the streets of Durham as part of "Heart of The City" on July 1st. These will be followed by excerpts from Winter North Atlantic's performance at Durham Town Hall where they will be premiering their new commission, Drifts and Panels featuring Emily Portman. I will then be out and about across County Durham filming festival events and finish up in Peterlee for Panoptika's performance at the Apollo Pavillion.
